How to be a Leader: Calm & Confidently

Our Philosophy:

Now that your puppy is in your house, he no longer has other dogs as his pack, he has to adjust and learn how to behave with a human family. He has to learn his place in the pack. You are his human leader, and just like momma dog, you have to have a "too cool" attitude. You are way too cool to yell, scream, or shout.  Being a leader is not about dominating or bullying; your pack members should not fear you.  Leadership is not dominance.  You do not rule through the threat of punishment, instead, you teach the pathway to reward.  You don't let anyone get the best of you, always calm and confident, you do what needs to be done, without fanfare. You barely have to use words, and when you do, they are clear and concise. Since you rarely talk, everyone listens when you do. You are important, you are a leader, you are always in control.  Your pack defers to you.  You have to BE someone worth following. Then your dog just has to worry about being a dog.

Remember this "If you treat your dog like a human, he will treat you like a DOG."Once you learn how dogs think, and you learn how to communicate, you can be the leader. You give commands, and you give praise. You are your dogs pathway to reward!  You always follow through consistently. Your dog is confident, secure, and has been taught whats required of him through formal training. You have a language now.  He can relax- you are in the drivers seat!

Our Training Methods

We subscribes to no one label of "methods", we instead rely on our education and extensive experience with dogs. Our humane techniques are custom tailored for each dog and focus on reward-based training that is healthy for the dog and gets results that are long-lasting.

Your dog will be trained with a leash and collar
* We do not use, nor do we condone forceful methods, or abuse like hitting, yelling, or choking.
* We use motivational methods that give dogs an incentive and a choice to comply.  A "do it or else" attitude is not motivational.

At Dynamic Dogs, our training is accomplished using natural canine body language.  Touch is used to teach the dog and guide him, as well as to praise him.  It is important to motivate the dog.  Rewards are Praise, Love, and Affection using a dogs natural pack drive and willingness to please.

Training is done without food bribes.  We acknowledge that food is a powerful resource to a dog.  We will use treats under the right circumstances, but will not lure or bribe a dog with food.  We use praise and affection so that your dog works to earn praise from you, not a piece of hot dog you are holding in front of him.  This way your dog will be well-behaved, even during times when he knows you have no treats.  This is because he/she understands the clear rules, and understands there are both rewards and consequences for the choices he makes.
